Acerca del libro
In this project, I decided to consider a variety of "big" questions about life. What is God, how can God be understood, and how ought humans to behave? I've combined my musings, and my photos which illustrate my musings, to produce this book.
The starting point for my philosophical inquiry is the first of the five books of the Jewish Torah – "Bereishis", which is also the first of the same five books as the Old Testament of the Bible - the "Book of Genesis".
Why did I select Bereishis / Book of Genesis as the starting point for my inquiry? Well, "In the
beginning…" seemed like a good beginning for my little book (it's a pretty compelling introduction in the Bible after all). I also wanted to better understand this seminal piece of literature which is key to Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.

I became interested in photography around 1995. My artistic influences include André Kertész, Robert Frank, and Joel Sternfeld. I’d describe my approach to photography as dignified and balanced, with an occasional undercurrent of humor.
