We travel to Sulawesi, where a small Christian People live high in the mountains of Torajaland. There they live according to traditions that go back many centuries. 10-year old Subaedah is confronted with the prospect of losing her very best friend to the ways of the town. Through her grandmother's guidance the girl learns that tolerance is the way to personal peace. The photography highlights the beauty of the country and the people.

Sharing what I've learned is my passion, and traveling for the last two years has taught me a lot! I want to lead young readers beyond geographic borders to find out about how other children live in different regions of this fascinating world. I want to write stories that amuse, educate and uplift, while showing pictures of extraordinary cultural events.
