Acerca del creador
Alex Parrent (b. 1988) recieved his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography from Columbia College Chicago in the spring of 2011. Two days after graduation, Alex left Chicago to work for the GPS company Zenrin USA Inc, for the second summer in a row. Over this past summer Alex spent three months in California, then spent another 5 weeks traveling throughout Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Mississipi, and Louisiana. Alex's work for Zenrin involved filming highway junction points throughout the South, Southeast, and West coast of the U.S. The video is then turned into still images of the roadway, which are used to create animated versions of what the highway exits look like. These animated versions are used in GPS units nationwide as a realistic view of the road being traveled. Alex's work entailed scouting, filming, organizing, driving, research, and longterm travel.
