This is my personal vision of a journey to Jalapão Desert. We left Brasilia with 9 4x4 cars and travel for 5 days, covering about 2.000 miles.

Located in the Brazil's highlands, the Jalapão Desert has one of the smallest population of the country.

A hard access way to Jalapão was largely responsible for the preservation of this place, where the paths emerges crystal clear water and abundant, forming numerous rivers amid a barren and beautiful landscape. These conditions give life to an incredible diversity of animals and plants totally adapted to this kin of region.

The Jalapão Desert was challenged only by caravans of drovers on epic journeys that crossed this wild country towards the valley of the river Tocantins. Nowadays the Jalapao Desert retains many of its original features and promises, through the various protected areas and sustainable tourism and try to consolidate itself as the largest area of ​​continuous preservation of the brazilian savanna.
