A journey through grief and the enormous impact of a brother's or sister's death on the remaining sibling. Offering compassion and understanding to surviving siblings, a loss that is most often ignored by society. During the journey, Smith finds little literature to help with sibling loss, realizing that those that have suffered from this type of loss are the experts, she reaches out to them for answers. Smith writes about the understanding of sibling bonds, the lifelong impact of the bond being severed, ideas to aid in the healing process, having a grief partner to help you in your time of need, and dealing with insensitive remarks made by others. Smith hopes to help those that are not only dealing with sibling loss, but also the loss of any loved one. She has included ideas for those that are trying to help someone through the loss of a loved one.
Proceeds from this book will be donated to Long Acre Cemetery.

Carol brought me a copy last night and I read it in one sitting. I laughed at some of the antics relayed and cried at other points. After all, this book is about my two children, can't get any closer than that. Carol told me that she does not want to profit off her brother's death so she will donate any profits to Longacre Cemetery where Dean was buried. That would go toward the upkeep of the grounds. I am proud of you Carol. I love you, Carol and Dean. Your Mom
