A visual journey depicting the changing way of life, as family farms disappear from our landscape. This book is an overview of 365 paintings of the artist's "Last Year on the Farm". The multi-generational farm has given way to the urban sprawl of Austin, TX. This is a chronicle of the changing seasons, the movement of life, and weather and how farmland under big skies is always in a state of change. The farm has sold now and development is coming soon. The seasons are changing . . . forever."

Such a poignant, sweet tribute to a vanishing way of life. Lovely work.

After seeing some of your "Last Year on the Farm" paintings at your recent show, I've been trying to put my finger on what is so awesome about the work. Your work is not just about gratifying your artistic expression, but about reaching out and documenting our world in a way that really makes people think. This book is not just a bunch of pretty paintings, its a diary of farm life, a documentary of change, an awakening of all the senses, and a thought-provoking journey to America's heartland.

Would like to THANK YOU, , sfdebby, for a wonderfully written comment about my book! I also would LOVE to know where exactly you live, as we spend a lot of time in the southernmost part of Colorado. I paint there a lot, and our family has a summer place along a river, too :)

I live on a river, in the mountains, in southernmost Colorado, far from even a grocery store. Every day, every time of day, every season is different here. As a lover of art, I value especially a work that captures a moment, a place, a light. Virginia Vaughan does this in her "Last Year on the Farm," a small artful book I stumbled on in Fired Works Gallery in Alamosa, Colorado.
