In 1997 the authors' son, Jason, urged his parents to visit him in Sydney. This photographic record and commentary is the story of those five weeks spent exploring three contrasting Australian States - from the Big City to the tropical rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef to Ayers Rock/Uluru and along the desert highway to Darwin. Advised by an experienced tourist against taking the bus when they could drive a camper van to Darwin they chose the latter and never regretted it. One point of interest is that every one of the 226 pictures has been scanned either from thirteen-year-old slides or colour negative film - a long and laborious process but the result is something of a historic family document. Most of the slides and film was pristine and unopened and very little photo-editing was required.
