Acerca del libro
Gerge Taoka, a second-generation Japanese-American, enjoyed a comfortable childhood and a college education at Stanford University before the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor turned him into an undesirable in the U.S. Luck has been on his side most of his life, especially when he was accused of being a spy, and a good attitude helped him use bitter experiences to find a fulfilling career at the University of Toledo. Taoka's keen memory shows in accounts of his childhood and later friendships, his father's lettuce farming, Heart Mountain internment camp, the progression of his academic career, and his hobby- travel abroad.
