Elephant sanctuary founder Katherine Connor chronicles her days in Katherine's Journal 2009/2010. This is the first volume in a series that recounts Katherine's life at the Sanctuary. Her writings are punctuated with details of rampaging tuskers, poachers, elephant rescues and stray dogs — revealing that every day at BLES is an adventure. The entire proceeds of this book go to the support and welfare of Boon Lott's Elephant Sanctuary.

What a wonderful inaugural undertaking. I look forward to the next in the series and cannot wait to read what the upcoming year has brought. For those who are not yet familiar with BLES, this book's beautiful photography and intimate size is a perfect introduction to Katherine and her magical sanctuary.

I just received this wonderful book. It's great to read about the time before I visit BLES in april 2010. Thank you so much for sharing your inspiring life Katherine, and the photo's of your BLES family are just gorgeous. Can't wait to see you all again and I will read this precious book over and over again. You are all in my heart.
