mathematics in nature
photographs of mathematical patterns found in the natural world
de simon williams
Images by South West photographer Simon Williams of some striking visual examples of Fibonacci sequences, fractals and other number patterns seen in the natural world. A portfolio of images exhibited to 3000 visitors at The Ice House Gallery, Holland Park, London during 2010 and has since shown at a series of venues across the city.
Freelance creative photographer working over 10 years with arts and environmental organisations. throughout the South West England and beyond. I have worked in the arts for theatres photographing productions and youth work, for galleries photographing makers and their work plus major rock festivals as an events photographer. I also work regularly for wildlife conservation and tourism organisations to promote the region and its natural landscapes. I exhibit at galleries throughout the region and occasionally nationally when time/opportunity permits. My recent exhibition - mathematics in nature - had a record number of visitors to the Ice House Gallery, Holland Park, Kensington, London. I visit London frequently and am interested in unusual environmental projects, exhibition opportunities (I have 3 exhibitions available for hire) and sales/commissions or interior design opportunities. Happy to meet for a coffee to discuss any ideas!
