Acerca del creador
Artist Anneke Silver‘s love of the natural and cultural environment is expressed in all of her work, which takes her to many different destinations all over the world. In her works she aims to capture a ‘sense of place’. As Associate Professor of Visual Arts at James Cook University in Townsville— where she lives—she taught drawing, painting and history of art. She also runs workshops for Flying Arts which take her to the outback. Skilled in many media she choses a medium that suits the subject and concept. She was artist in residence in Hill End as well as in Studio Alayrac in France. Her works are represented in major public, and private collections both in Australia and overseas. She has an impressive exhibition record that spans many years: more than 30 solo shows, public art works, invitation and touring shows, Craftsman House art press has published a monograph of her work.
