Acerca del libro
This book tells with words and photos about our two-week travel around the Northern parts of Ethiopia in March-April, 2010. We visited some of the most important and interesting sites in that area, especially Lalibela. More by chance than by good planning the trip to Lalibela took place on Easter. That meant that we could follow closely also the Easter Sunday mass. That was a great experience. After Lalibela we visited also the former capital of Gondar and Bahir Dar.
The trip was way too short to get a good understanding about the lives of local people. However, what I saw raised many thoughts in my mind. Although there are huge differences in the wealth between Ethiopia and the Western world, I was often surprised how much similarity there is between these two worlds. The biggest differences are not between people but within them.
Ethiopia is a challenging destination. You need to have an adventurous mind, lots of time and patience to travel there. The distances are long, public transportation is always an adventure and the infrastructure is at times hardly adequate. Things don't happen here like you may have used to. On the other hand everything turns out to be fine. Eventually. Chigger yellem!

Photography has been my hobby and pleasure ever since I was a teenager and got my first Kodak. I became more serious on taking photos in early nineties and really serious about ten years ago. Travel photography is one of my favourite domains although I'm specializing specifically in moods and feelings.
