Japan: A Cartoonist's Journey - Vol. 1.10 日本：ある漫画家の旅 ― 第1.10巻
de David N. Boyer (aka: "Bippy") デビッド N. ボイヤー (またの名を：『ビッピー』）
Acerca del libro
This is Dave Boyer's 2010 photography book. It is his very personal story about Japan containing over 200 photographs. Most of the book is translated into Japanese. It is a unique "coffee table" sized gift book (size 13x11 inches or 33x28 cm) similar to other fine art photography books and references. If someone likes Japan, they will enjoy reading Dave's very personal story in both English and Japanese.
••• Please note: It is not a "how to" book on drawing animé or manga. Nor is it a strict travel guide. It is more of a visual conversation between the author and the reader that took place about 2010.
Rochester, New York cartoonist and caricaturist Dave 'Bippy' Boyer has drawn live caricatures in Japan since Golden Week May 1999. "Bippy" is his caricature and comic strip nickname. Through his camera and open hand of friendship, he takes you on his personal journey to affirm and respect the people of Japan.
Explore: Caricature, the shakuhachi flute, the game of Go, costume play, the JR trains and the shinkansen.
See a future shinkansen "bullet train" model telling of a real train that is planned to travel over 500km an hour floating on a pulsing magnetic field by 2020.
"Bippy" 「ビッピ」 breaks down stereotypes about people as he draws their caricature. Bippy affirms people.
And wishes to humbly thank you for adding his photography personal story to your fine library.
