I'm not sure if you know of me or not, but I have written several books on Italian Americans. My latest project is "Farms, Factories and families: Italian american Women of Connecticut," and I had the good fortune to have interviewed your mother for the book in 2008.
The interview we recorded was quite moving and she spoke at length and in great detail about her life growing up in northern Italy and her family's escape from the Germans.
My books (my website is www.anthonyriccio.com) are collections of oral histories illustrated with photographs of the storytellers, the main charcters in all my books.
I would very much like to include a photograph of your mother where her story will appear. (I've alraedy transcribed the interview and placed it into the text of the book) What would work beautifully with her narrative would be any photograph of Georgina and her family taken while in Italy.
If this is something you can help me with, I'm sure it would add something quite lasting to your mother's legacy.
Thanks, Dan, for designating proceeds to the ALS Association -- the "Nonna" of this book lost her beloved husband died of ALS many years ago, & she worked to raise awareness, funds, & support for other families affected by ALS. She would be so proud, & must be smiling such a big happy smile!! And thank you to BLURB for featuring it!!!!! (written by Zia Lizzie)
The layout with the hand written index cards next to the printed recipe is classic.
I recognize recipes from many regions, the Risi e Bisi is classic Venetian, and the Roman-Jewish style artichokes (Carciofi alla Giudia), which she also seems to be holding on the cover, appear to have been prepared with great care.

I think book would have been better with more color pictures and without the hand written recipes. Was hoping for a pizza recipe. Nicely done:)

A credit to your nonna to be sure.
