Acerca del libro
Dutch writer Carlo van Putten (Amsterdam, 1962) forged his reputation as principle writer and vocalist with German band ‘The Convent’. Formed around 1985, they performed the length and breadth of Europe for over ten years. Carlo was the driving force that led to six studio albums and established a solid, loyal and lasting audience. However what is considered his best work was to emerge later through his collaborations with the late Adrian Borland of The Sound. Working under the banner of ‘White Rose Transmission’, the project was a loose collaboration of friendships that evolved during his musical wanderings, a circle that also included Mark Burgess of The Chameleons. Their debut self-titled album thematically explored the complexity of love and relationships, was a tour de force and demonstrated that Carlo’s lyrical pallet was both diverse and wide. Currently, Carlo continues to write, record and perform with White Rose Transmission and more recently with Dead Guitars.
Here for the first time Carlo presents a collection of poems and musings that serve to provide an intimate insight into the heart and soul that was the foundation for so much greater music.
