Acerca del libro
ARTIST STATEMENT
Previously a commercial yacht skipper I now use my background in navigation and my love of photography to explore cities with a camera.
I am inspired by the work of William Eggleston and Stephen Shore with their well observed perception and interpretation of the mundane. My work is also influenced by the quirky humour and documentary style of Martin Parr.
This generative piece uses a map and a 6x6 overlay to direct me to distinct locations whereupon I engaged my photographic eye to take images, which depict my perception of reality.
Dice are used to navigate the installation relinquishing control from the viewer and taking them on a journey of exploration.
