Deanna Slamans

Deanna Slamans is a full-time houseparent at the Milton Hershey School. She and her husband live and work with teenage boys who are at risk socially and financially. The have been houseparents since 1999. Deanna was enrolled at the Milton Hershey School as a student and is very familiar with growing up in poverty. Her personal memoir, Faith's Pursuit, documents events from early childhood, as well as her experiences while at the school. She shares how her journey as a Christian helped to heal the wounds from her past, and allow her to return to MHS to encourage others.
