A life-long resident of the Chesapeake Bay area, Cathy Harville has always had a love for nature. In the past several years, she embarked on a mission to paint our earth's land and sea, often from a unique viewpoint - her kayak. It was during a kayaking trip that Cathy realized most of her "seascapes" showed the interaction of land and water. Thus, the idea for this book was born.
Cathy also began to take a special interest in exactly how the land and sea mingle - and realized how important this fragile ecosystem is to the health of our planet. Using bright colors and bold texture, Cathy's artwork is a feast of "eye-candy", and invites us to spend some time in places most of us will never see. Her stories reflect her respect for nature, her struggles with creating art, and her hope that we will all step up to the plate, and take responsibility for our planet earth.
