Acerca del libro
In the Fall of 2009, as a twenty-eight year old pediatric resident from Chicago, I traveled to a small town in Tanzania on the eastern coast of Africa armed with a stethoscope and a Blackberry.
My first night I sent an email to my wife and parents that I typed with my thumbs under a mosquito net in my pitch black bedroom. They forwarded this email to some more family and friends and soon each day's letter was being sent to hundreds of people all over the world.
What follows are those original un-edited emails, as well as pictures I took while traveling.
Those twenty-eight days changed my life, and I hope that by rejoining me in real-time for the journey, it will change yours too.
