Hilary Lerner traveled to Poland and The Czech Republic to visit Holocaust sites. She visited four cities (Warsaw, Lublin, Krakow, Prague) and three concentration camps (Majdanek, Auschwitz-Birkenau, Theresienstadt). Upon her return to the United States she interviewed Holocaust survivors and compiled this book. The book contains photographs (taken by her) from her journey and the interview testimonies with nine survivors. This book includes a focus on the survivor experience after the Holocaust and their transition back to normal life. It is a tribute to the six million Jews who were killed in the Holocaust.
