Merksem, Belgium the 13th of April 2009, photographer Jorden Hellemans closes the door of his house behind him and starts to walk towards the South, towards the place of pilgrimage Santiago de Compostela.
This book is a photographic survey of his 100 days journey, a journey passing pilgrimroads that have been used for ages. He faced with surprises, misery, happiness and a huge hospitality.
Jorden travelled through Belgium (Mechelen - Brussels - Namur), whole France (Reims - Châlons-en-Champagne - Auxerre - Vézelay - Limoges - Périgueux - St-Jean-Pied-de-Port) and the North of Spain (Roncesvalles - Pamplona - Logroño - Burgos - León - Ponferrada - Sarria) to arrive at the capital of the green Galicia, Santiago de Compostela.
Santiago de Compostela is being visited for ages by pilgrims because acording to the legend the body of apostle Jacob was been buried on this spot. Later on the wonderful cathedral would rise above his grave.
