This is a book about the paintings of Seattle artist Randy McCoy by Maine Sunday Telegram and Portland Press Herald art critic Daniel Kany. McCoy was a student of Richard Poussette-Dart at the Art Students League in New York City. He has won numerous awards and shown his paintings across the country. Kany is an art historian. His 15 page essay compares McCoy's earlier car paintings to his new series dedicated to abstract forms - including cast and collaged paints on abstract canvases. As well the book and the essay show a bit about McCoy's prints and explain something of their origin in the work of McCoy's wife who is a scientist for a major Seattle biotech firm. The book is beautifully designed and contains a substantial but enjoyably insightful text by Kany.

Randy, is a great person and a truly amazing talent. I'm truly honored to own a couple of his earlier car paintings. This book is on my post holiday buy list. Cheers to both of you.
